About the Event

*NOT* Back to School Field Trip!! Visit the GEO BUS!!

The Nation’s 1st GeoBus is coming to our homeschool community! This is a 40-foot retrofitted city bus with a solar-power learning lab that will be rolling right into our venue to help inspire science’s next generation in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM). The GeoBus is a mobile laboratory focused on maps, apps, and drones! This is an education and outreach program offering hands-on learning experiences where students will learn about Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and drones, interact with online mapping applications, and fly mini drones.  (Click Read More for info...)

And...the Geo Bus is coming to our homeschool community!

Tickets go on sale Monday July 11th. Tickets are limited. Reserve yours today!

The Florida Homeschoolers Association has partnered with the GeoBus to provide ALL homeschoolers in grades 2-8 in the Sunshine State with access to an unforgettable science and geospatial technology experience! (You determine the approximate grade level.)

Homeschool students attending the event will be engaged and inspired to believe in their talents!

[ONE parent must accompany their children. Only one parent allowed per party, please. Other parents or siblings can enjoy the library as they wait.]

The GeoBus will be led by Citizen Science GIS. The Citizen Science GIS team will teach our homeschoolers about maps, apps and drones, bridging science, technology and communities at this unique event. Homeschoolers will engage in an interactive assembly and then participate in hands-on learning activities that may include: using mapping apps, creating crowd-sourced data, flying mini-drones, and more! Plus, the GeoBus, the mobile laboratory, is coming to us with more activities on the bus!

This event is geared toward homeschool students in grades 2-8. Older/younger siblings cannot attend this event. But, no worries! This event is being held in a location where other family members can be entertained right across the hall! One parent must remain with their students, however you may bring an additional adult with you to help with other children in different parts of the building, if needed.

NOTE: This is not a drop off event. One parent must remain with children. Students in grades 2-8 each require a ticket. One parent also requires a ticket. Be sure to purchase tickets for all students in 2nd-8th AND purchase a ticket for the supervising parent.
