About the Event
Join us for our annual, statewide, NOT-BACK-TO-SCHOOL homeschool field trip! Gather with other Florida home educators for a full day of excitement and learning at Marineland of Florida! This trip is for all ages. Age appropriate activities are included.
Marineland gives us the opportunity to learn about dolphins, sharks, sea turtles, and other marine life. Professional educators are dedicated to inspiration through immersive education covering topics including natural history, behavior, adaptations, conservation, and research. Over the past 80 years, Marineland has appeared in the spotlight as the site of Hollywood films, made significant contributions to marine science and conservation, and delighted countless guests with the enchantment of dolphin encounters.
TICKETS
Tickets are for ages 5 and up. Children 4 and under are free*. Maximum 6 tickets per order.
Please be sure to select the correct ticket type!
* Children 0-4 do not require a ticket, but we still need to include them in our headcount. Please declare the number of toddlers in your party when you register, there will be a question to answer about the number of toddlers.
All guests between the ages of 5-? require their own ticket. Adults who accompany students (parents, grandparents, caregivers) all require a ticket, no matter their level of participation.
Tickets last ALL DAY! The park closes at 3pm and you may stay as long as you like.
Our day will include a full itinerary of stops:
ITINERARY
We will visit educational stations and attend age-appropriate classes. These will be pre-scheduled and students may be divided into smaller groups to be able to accomodate our numbers (depends on our final group size). Parents will be able to stay with their students, or nearby, as desired. A special FLHSA-only class will be "Shark Tracking" where students will learn about shark habitat, movement and predict likely shark whereabouts! We will bring our own lunches and eat outside (shaded) during 30 minute staggered lunch breaks. Be sure to bring your own drinkls & lunches (YES, families may eat together).
ARRIVAL
Our experience begins at 9:00 am (8:30 arrival in front of the building) and the last class ends at 1:30 pm. After the classes have ended, we can (optional) remain in the park until 3: 00 pm closing time. Guests may take photos, visit the gift shop, or view any of the remaining exhibits on their own, after our field trip has ended.
When you arrive, please meet the FLHSA Ambassador to check in. Our Ambassador will be wearing a ***royal blue*** FLHSA t-shirt. (Other volunteers may be wearing hot pink FLHSA tees.) Don't forget to check in with our group. You may not enter on your own.
PARKING
Parking (free) is limited on the property, so you may wish to carpool with friends. Additional parking (free) is available across the street.
Please note our group may be divided based on how many attend. Families who wish to stay together should be able to do so, if they want to. Parents who prefer their students to attend age appropriate classes alone may also wait nearby (within eyesight of their students). We recommend allowing students to attend classes geared to their age level, but leave that to the discretion of parents.
Every guest requires a ticket EXCEPT children age 4 and under. Anyone age 4 or under DOES NOT need a ticket, but must be included in our headcount - see instructions when purchasing. Anyone 5 and up requires their own ticket.
Again, if you have a young child between the ages of 0-4 they do not need a ticket. HOWEVER we will be asking for a headcount when you purchase your ticket(s). PLEASE REMEMBER TO INCLUDE TODDLERS/CHILDREN 4 AND UNDER IN YOUR HEADCOUNT.
REFUND POLICY
TICKETS ARE NOT REFUNDABLE FOR ANY REASON. We cannot transfer tickets to your friends if you cannot attend. Please do not purchase a ticket expecting a refund. We cannot issue refunds or transfer tickets for this event. We cannot transfer your ticket to another day. Please do not ask about these changes as they can delay the process for others. Thank you!
